Not too many takers? Well, the release of the much-anticipated film `Sholay 3D` hasn`t opened with a bang! The 3D version of Bollywood cult classic `Sholay`, which hit the big screen on January 3, has earned Rs 3.75 cr crore on the first two days. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the film`s box office collection on the first two days. "#Sholay3D Fri 1.50 cr, Sat 2.25 cr. Total: ₹ 3.75 cr nett. India biz only," his tweet reads. As producer Sascha Sippy had said in one of his recent interviews, `Sholay 3D` has been made on a budget of approximately Rs 20 crore, which also includes restoration and conversion. Sascha is the grandson of late filmmaker G.P. Sippy, who had originally produced Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra starrer `Sholay`, directed by his son Ramesh Sippy. "It took two years to make `Sholay` and three years to restore and convert it into 3D. As far as the budget is concerned, it is close to Rs.20 crore to Rs.22 crore, which also includes the marketing and publicity of the film besides restoration and conversion costs," Sascha was quoted as saying. The original `Sholay` was reportedly made on a Rs.4 crore budget.
